Honeymoons in Asian Heavens

Move over Paris, this year’s honeymoon vacations have another destination in mind : Asia. If you thought marriages were made in heaven, then an Asian honeymoon must have been made in the Eden’s Garden! Asia is a huge continent, and naturally it is full of wonderful places. Here is the top five places to choose from:

Kerala, India:

In the past few years, Kerala has become a tourist magnet, attracting people from all over the world. It is, probably, the closest thing to heaven, and it has been aptly nicknamed “God’s owned country” because of its rich culture, vivid cities and mesmerizing landscapes. The nickname also comes from the canals and waterways which are used as means of transportation. To truly savor the Kerala experience you should rent a boathouse and enjoy each others company.

Thailand is the perfect honeymoon destination choice for a romantic getaway. It provides visitors with a lush tropical paradise, exotic cuisine and experiences, golden sandy beaches and fantastic shopping places. Another interesting thing about Thailand is the strong presence of the Buddhist religion can be seen in the magnificent temples ( eg. The Emerald Buddha ). A Thailand honeymoon would not be complete without sampling some traditional, delicious dishes rich in rice, seafood, vegetables, coconuts and aromatic spices. The must sees of the country are Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya and Chiang Mai.

Malaysia, a bustling melting pot of races and religions, has an intriguing mixture of Indian, Chinese and Malai cultures which can be found a perfect blend between modern world and traditional culture. Something you should definitely not miss are the Petronas Twin Towers which offer a great panoramic vista of the capital city. There is also the famous Islamic Arts Museum, which offers insight on the Muslim beliefs and culture. Like every Asian paradise, Malaysia has turquoise waters and golden stretches of sand of its own, and Langkawi is without a doubt the most sought out destination for couples.

If you prefer a more quiet and relaxing honeymoon in which you can disconnect from the world, I suggest a trip to the spectacular, untouched Maldive islands. These islands are truly idyllic and secluded. Much of the coastline has remained pristine, the palm trees and beautiful beaches are complemented by luxury resorts which offer a great number of outdoor activities, which make this place the most desirable choice.

These are only a few of the paradisaical destinations which can be found in Asia. There are also other incredibly beautiful places like Japan, Singapore, China and many other. If you wish to find out more about these places, stay tuned for the next chapter about Honeymoon locations.
